Frequently asked questions

What is CanPrev Liposomal Vitamin C 500 with Vitamin E and what does it do?

It's a liposomal liquid supplement providing 500mg of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) plus 6.7mg (10 IU) of Vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) per teaspoon. Its Health Canada-authorized uses are helping the body's ability to metabolize nutrients, helping with wound healing, helping maintain bones, cartilage, gums and teeth, and acting as an antioxidant for the maintenance of good health.

How do I take it?

Adults: take one (1) teaspoon (5ml) per day, or as directed by a health care practitioner. Can be taken directly or mixed into a glass of water. Shake well before use and refrigerate after opening.

Why does this formula include Vitamin E alongside Vitamin C?

Vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) is a second real antioxidant vitamin included in this formula at 6.7mg (10 IU) per teaspoon, delivered in the same soy-free liposomal liquid as the 500mg Vitamin C dose.

What does 'liposomal' mean, and why does it matter?

CanPrev's liposomal technology wraps Vitamin C and Vitamin E in bio-friendly phospholipid bilayers - the same basic building blocks as cell membranes - sourced from sunflower rather than soy. This is designed to protect the vitamins from digestive breakdown in transit and support rapid, sustained cellular uptake, compared with a standard tablet.

Why liquid instead of a tablet or capsule?

The liposomal liquid format is designed to be gentle and non-acidic, without the sharp acidity some people notice with standard ascorbic acid tablets, and it's easy to take by the teaspoon for anyone who prefers not to swallow pills.

Is liposomal Vitamin C absorbed better than standard Vitamin C?

Liposomal delivery is designed to improve absorption. General research on liposomal vitamin C has found that an oral liposomal dose can produce higher blood concentrations than the same dose of unencapsulated oral vitamin C, though this research concerns the delivery technology and ingredient generally, not a specific claim about this finished product.

Is it vegan and allergen-friendly?

Yes - vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free, dairy-free and soy-free, with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. The liposomal phospholipids are sourced from sunflower, not soy.

Who should not use it?

Do not use this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. As with any natural health product, consult a health care practitioner prior to use. Do not use if the safety seal is broken. Keep out of reach of children. Note this product's Vitamin E content (10 IU per teaspoon) is a modest daily dose, well below the higher supplemental doses studied in some general Vitamin E research.

How long does one bottle last?

Each 225ml bottle provides 45 teaspoon servings - a 45-day supply at the labelled adult dose of 1 teaspoon per day.

Where is it made?

CanPrev Liposomal Vitamin C 500 with Vitamin E is made in the USA for CanPrev Natural Health Products Ltd. (Toronto, ON, Canada), and is a licensed Natural Health Product under NPN 80125455.
